pray for nathan and tricia

Sometimes God wants to remind us to get a grip. I needed that today. I needed to hear that there are people out there in the world who are suffering, and their heartache is different - and perhaps heavier - than my own. Sometimes it's good to remember that what we are facing, these trials and tribulations we are handed, are not uncommon to man. I read in David McCullough's masterpiece, "John Adams," a beautiful biography of one our founding fathers, that Adams and his wife, Abigail suffered the loss of two children in infancy. History will remind us, over and over again, that those who've gone before us have tred a path marked with many similarities to our own. There has always been joy. There has always been suffering. What triumphs to know that only one will remain.

Having said that, I ask you to pray for Nathan and Tricia. I don't know their last names; I don't even know where they live. I encourage you to visit the blog Nathan is keeping on behalf of his wife, who suffers from cystic fibrosis, and their newborn daughter, Gwyneth, who is herself in perils related to an early delivery. Every day, a new trial, a new sense that perhaps some terrifying report will bring on greater sorrow - or that news of a brighter nature will lift their hearts a bit. To live like this, to wonder what's coming next, is perhaps a kind of suffering in and of itself. Beacause I do read each comment that is made on this blog, I know how incredible it is to feel loved and prayed for. So I ask you to go and leave your own words of encouragement for this precious young family. Visit cfhusband.blogspot.com.

Come, Lord Jesus, come!

I have also been following the story of Nathan, Tricia and baby Gwyneth. It's truly amazing, I agree.

Although we have never met, please know that I continue to pray for you and your sweet family. Your posts are so uplifting and truth revealing, and have deeply touched me.

God sure is holding thousands captive and praying as He works out another perfect plan only He knows answers to. I pray and hold my breath each time I read a new post from Nate, feeling the same urgency as it was when praying for Copeland and for you. I continue to pray for you and Conor and Sellers each new day, asking God to bless you as you bless others with your words here. I thank God for His faithfulness in your continued healing and hope.

Hugs and Love,
Laurie in Ca.

Hi, Boothe,

I've been praying for Tricia and Gwyneth and Nate for several weeks as well...

I think of you often and wonder how you're doing. I still pray for you. I showed someone a picture of Copeland (the one on the memorial service order of worship) just last week. We will not forget Copeland. Or you. Or Conor. Or Sellers.

We love you all.

It's been a while since I left a comment here, but I wanted to let you know that I haven't forgotten about you or your family or your sweet Copeland, who changed me forever. Thank you for including the site for Nathan and Tricia; I had read about them but didn't know where to get the info.

I've wanted to add a comment to your blog as a friend of mine introduced me to your blog as you talk so much about your faith and she says I do the same thing and thought I would be interested in your blog. I keep waiting each day for a new entry as to her's Life Without Kierra is my friends blog. She lost her daughter in a road rage accident she was 24 yrs old and a mother of twins and they were just 24mths when they lost thier mother. I have no children as my ex wasn't able to have any and the love I have for them I wish I had a family.
But, I know you speak about things in the bible and it must be hard, of what your going through. I pray for you daily and on my prayer list at church. I attend on a regular basis IM also a PK. Don't forget also about the story of Job of what he went through he lost his entire family when the roof caved in if you haven't read it please do so, it's so touching. He lost faith and then realized God was still with him. MY prayer goes out to you and IM going to look at the other blog as well.
I will continue to keep checking your blog. Thanks for your sharing your life with us.

My devotional today was so encouraging to me. I hope that it will bless you as well.

But don't be angry with yourselves that you did this to me,
for God did it. Genesis 45:5a

That's Right - You Did It
Wait a minute. Joseph is sold by his brothers into slavery. He is falsely accused and spends much of his early adult life rotting in prison. This could not have been fun times, it certainly would not have felt loving. And yet Joseph clearly gives You "credit" for all the turmoil he went through?!? That is truly a level of faith, of understanding what BIBLICAL love looks like, that I desire to have too. Joseph understood that You are completely sovereign - and that means EVERYTHING!

In the day of prosperity be happy. But in the day of adversity consider -
God as made one as well as the other. Ecc 7:14 - NASB

I will pray for them as I continue to pray for you and your family. I haven't left a comment in a long time, but thought today might be the right time. I too suffered the loss of an infant son years ago and wrestled with the same things you feel. Your post today made me think about perspective. The day after our precious son died, my best childhood friend was killed in an auto accident along with her 4 year old son and her full-term baby. Her husband Mark lost his entire family in one moment. While that event did not take away any of the hurt of losing our sweet Scott, it did put a great deal of perspective on the tremendous blessings we still had in our two children and each other. In grieving, some days the best we can do is to focus on the blessing we have left in our lives--a story like Nathan, Tricia and Gwyneth helps me keep perspective.

One of the things I'm pondering at this season of life is not rolling over and giving up on the challenge in my life but finding contentment in it. Content in the sense that this is what God has allowed for now and how to let Him have His way. I want to pray for release and cry out, "unfair" but I'm thinking I need to draw closer and be quiet and let Him have His way.

I haven't cried this hard in weeks. I want to believe that God has something great in store for this precious man, but my heart just hurts for him because of what Satan is putting him through.

It is my prayer today that a miracle from God most high will save this family from further pain.
