from the sister

Since I'm related to this family and can call at any moment to check on them, but still am checking the site hourly for updates, I thought those of you who might not have the chance to call would like a little update. (And since Boothe and Conor gave me their sign-in info, I'm going for it!)

She's still with us!

I spoke with Conor about 20 minutes ago and his words were "she's doing good". Her color isn't back to where it was this time yesterday, but she isn't gasping for air or struggling - that they can tell. She's sleeping silently and seems to be doing better than last night. The hospice nurses came by today to check in on her and give a little comfort to Boothe and Conor, and all things seemed to be all right. The uncertainty of what the next hours will bring makes this news bittersweet, but lets us rejoice in knowing that she is still with us - not struggling and not hurting.

And can I also take this moment to tell you, first hand, how amazing Boothe and Conor really are as parents. They honestly strive to give their daughters the very best they know how and have thought of no one this entire week but their two girls. If we could all be as sacrificial and Spirit-led in the way we love our children, we would be amazingly blessed.

As you continue to lift up their precious babies, don't forget to mention them. Boothe and Conor are following where He's leading them and He is mighty to save. May He give them strength to walk through this journey.

love from Dallas
(no more surprise posts, Sis! I promise!)

I am also checking in over and over again for updates and want to say thank you for checking in.

I've never posted a comment here before, but I've been reading this blog for the past four or five days. I am praying, and crying, with you all. For some reason your family has reached out and grabbed my heart...well, I know the reason. God has drawn so many of us here, hasn't He??

I will continue to pray for peace to blanket you all, for God's perfect will in your situation to be done, and for sweet little Copeland to be free of pain. God bless you all.

I have been reading and watching for updates for about a week now. Our prayers are with you and all of your family. As I was just reading the latest update I was listening to WAY-FM and the song from Casting Crowns came on "Praise You In This Storm". He is with us through the storms and our help does come from Him, and he never leaves our side. Just be still and know that he is there with you!

Thank you!

I am so glad they are benefitting from hospice services. Hospice is wonderful. I often think hospice is as much a gift for the loved ones as it is for the person who is experiencing the palliative care.

Thank you for the update "Sis". Conor and Boothe are doing amazingly wonderful for the job set before them. I am so proud of their honesty and sincerity along this journey into the unknown world of Gods Plan. They need to know that God is pleased with them just as they are, trusting in Him to show how to let go and hold on. Their knowledge and wisdom comes moment by moment, unnerving I am sure but still given to them by God. I continue to pray that they get much needed rest in the comfort of the Lord. Praying for Sellers and Copeland too. Gods will be glorified.

Copeland's strength reminds me of a verse from Psalms:
Psalm 63
1 O God, you are my God,
earnestly I seek you;
my soul thirsts for you,
my body longs for you,
in a dry and weary land
where there is no water.
2 I have seen you in the sanctuary
and beheld your power and your glory.

3 Because your love is better than life,
my lips will glorify you.

4 I will praise you as long as I live,
and in your name I will lift up my hands.

5 My soul will be satisfied as with the richest of foods;
with singing lips my mouth will praise you.

6 On my bed I remember you;
I think of you through the watches of the night.

7 Because you are my help,
I sing in the shadow of your wings.

8 My soul clings to you;
your right hand upholds me.

Hey Chelsea,

You know you are one of my favorites and I wanted to talk with you at the hospital the other day but never could get you alone but I must tell you the prayer you prayed in the waiting room touched me deeply...the depth of your faith is amazing, your maturity is beyond the years you have lived, and your enthusiam for life is contagious...Boothe (and Carter) is very lucky to have you as her sister

Hi. You don't know me but I'm a sister in Christ! I just felt compelled to comment after reading of your night last night and your middle of the night postings....My own baby boy was crying in the middle of the night last night. He kept us awake for much longer than usual. God clearly placed you and your family on my heart to pray for you during that time. I couldn't fall back asleep so I just spent that time praying for what the Lord put on my heart and for your specific requests. The Lord hears. I found comfort for y'all even in the deep sadness I've been carrying around for you this week when thinking that God our Father knows so specifically what it is like to watch his own son die. He knows the exact pain and sorrow you are experiencing. That makes Him indeed the perfect comforter and peacegiver as well. I pray peace for you today.
I wrote just to remind you two things: There are tons of people praying for your daughter and your family, many many of whom I am sure you will never meet until heaven! Also, have great joy and encouragement that your teeny little girl and y'all's faith journey have pointed so many to Christ.
I can't wait to meet CFF in heaven one day.
Lifting you up to the Lord,
Jessica

Thanks Chelsea! What a blessing it is to have an update from you. And thanks for reminding us to lift up Boothe and Conor, not just little Copeland! From a mom who's had a c-section, they're no "walk in the park"! I will continue to pray for Boothe's healing and stamina. It is truly evident what amazing parents they are and I continue to be blessed by them!! Thanks for the update!

There is so much I would love to share with you about the journey I took four years ago losing my son at six weeks of age (and about his older sister who turned two the day after his funeral). My brother got married the following weekend so I feel very close to what you're going through. We too had nights like you described where he would stop breathing and even his heart would stop...we would say goodbye and begin to let go only for him to take another breathe and stay with us for a while longer. This journey is one you will remember forever and my prayer for you is to spend every second with your little one knowing that God is holding her too and is preparing a beautiful home for her in Heaven. Your walk has been with such faith and strength that it has been a witness to so many already and will continue to change lives. I will pray for you in these last days, know that you are not alone. God knows every tear you cry, every moan you let out and will never leave your side.

I just learned about your family by a co-worked and as a mother of 2 I have been praying and watching hourly as well. I am praying for the entire family as my heart goes out to all of you, although I know none, except in Jesus Christ.

May God be with you and may his presence be with you as a shield of comfort.

I don't know you personally, but can feel for you as a mother. Your words are so beautiful and the love you have for your family pours through them. Your sister obviously thinks so too with her sweet words about you and Conor. Take strength and do what you can...as you said in another post...just breath

Chelsea,

Thanks for the sweet update. I know there are many of us who are faithfully checking this blog by the hour (or every few minutes!). I decided to call your parents and see if I could drive out to the house to see Copeland and they said yes. Having not been at the hospital, this was my first chance to see her. She was so sweet and seemed to be breathing very regularly and peacefully. Sellers was so sweet showing me her baby sister. Boothe was sleeping (thankfully) and I didn't stay long, but I will always count it one of my life's greatest honors to sit there this afternoon and hold that precious little angel and be able to offer up my own silent prayer of thanksgiving to God for her life, the testimony of your family's faith, the absolute mystery of His ways (which can often seem unfair), and ultimately His mercy in seeing us through to the other side. I trust that He will continue to give all of you strength that defies logic in these next coming hours, days, weeks....

I love you all very much...

Boothe and conor, a situation like this is the most exhausting expierence I have had in this life. Emotionally and physically draining. And boothe w/you recovering from surgery too. But part of having your heart laid bare, means that all of your heart is invested, all you have to give is already out there. You are loving as God would have us love..and I'm sorry that it hurts so much. We will continue to pray for you all. That grace and mercy would be showered on you all.

Thanks Chelsea,
My prayers encompasses you, Heath and Carter also, knowing how hard it is to not be within hugging distance. I will always cherish the sweet moment in your wedding this last July when Boothe, as your Maid of Honor,came down the aisle holding Seller's hand as flower girl and very pregnant with Copeland. All the "Farley girls" together. What an awesome,heavenly Kodak moment!!
I am so glad Copeland got to share that precious ceremony of worship with all of us who were blessed to be there. All my love, Aunt Cindy
